Blog 18 - Monday, November 21, 2016

There will only be ONE (1) blog this week! Very short week :)

This upcoming weekend is America's Thanksgiving Holiday.
Verizon and AT&T report that more phone calls are made on this holiday than any other holiday (including Christmas).

If you could call someone (dead or alive) who would you call?
Why would you call them?
What would you discuss?

Explain.

  1. If I had the chance to talk to my grandfather who has recently passed away I would.
I would call him to apologize to him for all the mean and terrible things I've said and done to him. When I was younger I never took the chance to realize that our loved ones won't always be here in this world. If I had known sooner how life goes by so fast I would have spent more time with him and I would have tried to get to know who he really was. My grandfather wasent like all the other cute old men who were Always in their corner and quiet ; my grandfather was big and tall and loud and everyone knew who he was as soon as he walked in the room . Before him passing away I called him a pig and then few nights after he went into a coma and was stuck in it for 3 months it was very hard for the family to manage our first lost and such an important one to. He made our family , he educated my dad and my aunts and uncles and he made my grandmother happy every single day (even if she didn't show it) . No one relised how important he was to the Karls family back then but it was a wake up call when he passed away we all regret not spending every waking minute with him when he was alive and healthy . So to come to conclusions I would have discussed all of this with him and I would have spoke to him about things that I was to imature to talk to him about before when I was younger.

    3. It's very mature of you to admit that and I'll bet we all wish we had spent more time with people we've lost.

  2. A person that was really important to me was my aunt who has passed away last year, thats who i would like to speak to one more time.My aunt died last year two days after my birthday due to hernia she was in the hospital for a week than died in the early morning. If i had the chance to speak to her again i would tell that ive got into the math level i wanted and that i was doing good and that i really missed her.She was basically the person who took care of me when my parents werent home and she would be the one that if i got into trouble would explain to me what ive done not to do it again.I really wanted to tell all this before she left but now it was to late for me.

  4. A person that I would like to speak to one more time is my great grandfather that died when I was born. My sister got to meet him but she was very young. I would call him because I would love to see what he is like and how he speaks and stuff. And I would be very curious to see what he'd say to me. Also I would be curious to see how the conversation is like. I think it would go very good because my dad and mom always say that we are alike. WE talk the same and when he was young, my grandfather would always tell my dad that he was like me. Also my grandfather always tells me that we look alike and have a lot of similarities. I really am sad that I couldn't meet him and wish that I can just call him to see how he's doing and to tell him all the stuff that has happened in my life after he passed away.

  5. A person that is important to me is my grandmother. She is one of my favorite person in the world. She had support me thought out my years. Sadly, she pass away last year. I would discuss evrything I can, the past, the present, and even the futur. The reason why I pick her because she is very dear to me. She protect me from punishment (sometimes) and help my problems. I wish she can be alive forever and stay by my side. But she's not, though I know she is in the sky watching me and protecting me.

  6. if i were to call anybody it would be my grandfather who passed away 3 years ago right before Christmas. i was really close with him and he supported me with everything. he always went to all of my hockey and soccer games. i think we would talk about hockey and how i dont get to play this year and talk about me being in high school. i would tell him that i love him and miss him. i know you said only one person but there is someone else who i would talk to and that would be my brother. he passed away a couple days after he was born so i never got to go to the hospital and meet him. we would talk about everything, our parents, sports all of the above.

    3. It would be asome to talk to someone you that is close to you that you nnever got to know and it must feel like the greatest feeling to talk to someone that has been lonely for such a long time.

  7. I think I would call my parents best friend, I called him granpa Wilf. Wilfred was so close with me and my family that I considered him my grandfather. Not all family members are related by blood, family members are really who you love. He passed away a good year ago but that doesn't mean I miss him any less. If I could talk to him I'd talk to him about school and how great I'm doing in hockey and all my other sports. I'd talk to him about his current dogs (he was a dog breeder) and see if we could take another puppy in. But I'd also tell him how much I missed him, his humour, his comfort and all the family reunions.

  9. If I had the chance to call somebody it would be Antonio Brown my favorite NFL player. I would like to call him because he looks like a pretty cool guy and when I see him on T.V he's always smiling and laughing. Another reason why I would pick up the phone and call Antonio Brown if I had his number would be because I know he would make me laugh, and I love to laugh. I would discuss about life and football with him.

  10. I guess if there was anyone, i would call my grandpa. I never met him because he passed away 5 years before i was born. It would be very interesting to talk to him because so much has happened. My grandpa and grandma had there first child and gave her up for adoption. they never told my mom or her siblings, once both of my grandparenrs passed away she was notified of that. long story short she searched everywhere and finally found names of her parents other kids. she then got in contact with them through facebook and realized that, they were all brothers and sisters. so now i have more first cousins and another aunt and uncle, that i never knew i had. Im so thankful for them and we are very close with them, but they live in Windsor, Ontario. My grandparents would be left speechless and shocked, but it would be defenitly something to talk about.

  11. If I was able to call anyone ever and have a conversation with them I would call one of my first ancestors on this planet. I would call them because I would love to see how my culture and how the MUDA'S became to be on this planet, I would also like to speak about how they lived and were they lived and what time period they were from.

  12. If I could call someone, it would be my uncle Paul who passed away when I was young. The reason I would call him is fairly simple . Just to tell him I miss him and that I love him. If I was able to talk to my uncle it would probably be for hours talking about memories we had together . I would also tell my uncle that I wish I'd spent more time with him. I hadn't seen him that much before he died and I wish I did . But calling my uncle Paul wouldn't be enough , I would want to see him in person even if it's impossible.

  14. If I were to call any one it would be my great uncle Johnny, who passed away last year. I would choose to call him because when my mom was a kid she said he was the best uncle ever. He would do things with them that were really fun but sometimes against the rules, he couldn’t have kids of his own so he didn’t know better and my grandmother would freak out. I only knew him a bit because he lived far away and I only saw him when I was young so I don’t remember much. All I remember is that he was really funny, he loved to make people laugh and from hearing stories I can tell he was a very smart and creative person. I don’t really know what we would discuses but I guess we would tell each other stories and we would actually get to know each other way better than we did before.

I've liked him since i was a kid because i grow up watching him and my family is Portuguese so we love to watch him play. My grandpa, dad and I are really big fans of him and one day we hope to meet him.

  17. If i could make one phone call to anyone in the world, huh, never really put much thought into this concept. The reason that this is such a hard question to answer is pretty simple, there are just so many good/great options for this phone call. But after thinking about this topic for some tie i think i know the person i would call is my grandfather and the reasons behind is pretty simple. He passed away almost a year ago (last December) and my family misses him very much so being able to speak to me would mean the world to me.

  18. If I could call someone it would be my great grandfather because he dead and I want to know how many achievements when he was in world war 2. Because I want to know where his achievement metals have went because no one from my family knows where they have went. And I only talk to him once a year and I wanted to talk a lot about him and me.

  19. If I could talk to anyone I would talk to Bob Marley. I would talk to him because he was a very chill and relaxed guy. He also has a lot of wisdom and is an all around great guy. He would be able to teach anyone the best way to be happy and stay happy, and show how to be peaceful and accepting of others, him and Snoop Dogg, it would be a lot cooler if I could spend the day with either one of them, oh and Wiz Khalifa, any of them would be cool to talk to and to meet in real life and spend the day with them.

  21. if i could call anyone right now i would called my grandfather that passed away when i was 10 years old. I don't really remember much of him because i only got to see him once and that was two years before he died. If i had the chance to talk to him, we would talk about all the stuff that he was been throught when he was younger because he lived throught a very bad war. My mom's side of the family always talks about how much of an amazing and intelligent man my grandfather was. Especially my grandmother. I wish that one day i can go back in time and actually have a normal conversation with my grandfather.

  22. If I had the chance to call anyone, dead or alive, I would call my Grandpa John. He died when I was three years old. He had alzheimers and it was very sad to watch him die. The reason I would pick Grandpa John is because he was probably the biggest Dallas Cowboy fan ever! I don't remember much about him but the one thing I always here is how dedicated he was to the Cowboys. I would love to tell him how well they are doing this year and how much they have improved. Although he was lucky enough to see them win four Super bowls. His favourite player was Emitt Smith, I wonder what he would think of Ezekiel Elliott? It would be great if he was still alive to watch football with and just get to know him better.

  23. I would call my best friend. I love talking to her because we have so much in common and the conversation always leads to us laughing or being happy. I think I can trust her, and that's why I would call her(I can trust my parents also but why would I call them if I live with them). I can say everything truthfully or her and she can always help me out. I think we would definitely discuss good things or even problems happening in our life, and we can give each other advice.

  24. If I had the chance to call someone I would call my grandfather he died around 6. years ago. I was pretty young at that age so I didn't really get the chance to get to know him and actually talk to him. I remember he always use to tell my brother and I some stories. If I had the chance to call him I would try to get to know him better and ask him a bunch of questions.

  25. I would call my mother because she died just over 8 months ago. I didn't know her as long as I thought I would. I would call her because I would love to know how she is doing and just to hear here voice again. We would discuss how things are going where we are. I would talk about how things are going at home and on earth.

And for the present time I would talk to my grandfather it would be hard to have convo because they speak Somalian only and we live in different generation so i would talk about the technological advances and how life is.
