As part of Bell, Let's Talk day, I devoted a 50-minute period to simply TALK!
How has communication changed since the evolution of the cell phone?
Have we lost the art of simply talking?
What do you think the will happen in the future?
Explain.
Watch this video by Gary Turk titled "Look Up"
communication has changed so much since technology has gotten better. everybody uses phones to be social but a lot of the time ur not even face to face with anyone ur just staring at screen. i dont think we have lost the art of talking because everyday we all talk. talking is something all do and it is so important but with technology getting better and better we might turn out like the people in wall-e where everyone only looks at their screens and haven't even noticed everyone around them. that would be terrible but thats probably how we will all end up one day.
ReplyDeleteI agree , I don't believe we have lost the art of talking . We still talk everyday to one another , just not as much as we are suppose to.
DeleteI agree as well but then again some teenagers are more anti-social than others.
DeleteI think communication has changed a lot because with the phone you can communicate a lot easier especially if you are a shy person. Today in class lots of people weren't even communicating because they had nothing to say to one and other because they get so used to just texting. I really hope that in the future people are better talkers, the phone really takes away from lots of things
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteOne way communication has changed over the years is that most of it now is done digitally like by the most common way, texting. Our generation really has lost the certain of talking towards each other face to face. I've even seen people text another person when they were in the same house. They could've jut went over and talked to them but technology has made everyone lazy. With so many people looking down to their phones even when they are walking creating an extremely dangerous hazard of running into someone or something. Technology really has changed the way we live our everyday lives. In the future, people will become even lazier. I believe that some people will become so lazy, that they hire advanced robots so they won't have to do their job. So all they can do is sit around all day and not do any actually work.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% Justin. Very good points
DeleteYa i agree, some people will be so lazy because of technology
DeleteI think that now we have iphones and other cell phones & devices we do not rlly know how to have a straight up conversation with a person without looking at our phones, or even without it being awkward and not knowing what to say. I think the future will simply just be A LOT of technology and not a lot of talking at all.
ReplyDeleteCommunication has definitely changed since cellphones were created . People are glued to their phones . Friends can be sitting right next to each other and not be talking to one another but their eyes are glued to their phones . I don't believe we have lost the art of simply talking , I just believe that people simply don't want to or chose too . In the future I believe that the new generation will be only talking through the new phones and not to each other faces. But I hope that in the future the new generation won't believe that their phones are everything and will actually have a civil conversation with one another .
ReplyDeleteI think that since the cell phone has come out we have talked a lot less than we used to. But I don't think that we have lost the art of talking and I don't think we ever will mainly because without talking there is no way to really understand each other. Although it is possible for us to eventually in the evolution to lose the basic face to face communication.
ReplyDeleteIn this generation all communication is done from the cell phones back then when there was no cell phone there was way more verbal communication but now it's all different. I think that later on it will get worse and worse and verbal communication will go down and it will only be communication through phones
ReplyDeleteGood job, first blog this term!
Deletewell right now i think that people feel better to talk in person but its easier to do it on your phone. we are so blinded by our phones we dont see the world around us. in the future if we keep talking like this i fear we will lose the ability ti communicate.
ReplyDeleteWe will never lose the ability to communicate because we don't just have a mouth to eat we have one to speak and express ourselves as well .
DeleteI find that more communication is used through phones now. Phones have involved since back in the day when phones just started. I find people who talk in person is more easier then on the phone. But now with all our busy lives, it is easier and quicker on a phone. I do not think we lost the art of talking. A lot of people do still talk in person. But our generation is now really counted on our phones to do the work for us. Personally I feel that nothing will change. There will probably be a new iPhone every year and nothing will change. I think the present is the way it's going to stay for a while. We will depend on our phones but at the same time not loose the art of talking.
ReplyDeleteToday in 2017 our world is much more advanced then before. People in this world don't realize what's out there in the real world other then phones. Yes maybe we've lost the touch in talking person to person when we have our phones but having phones also help us to communicate through another perspective instead of real life . Maybe it isn't so great that we are so addicted to our phones but we're mostly on our phones to speak to our other friends who aren't around us but if we put us all in one room together no one will go on their phones. For example when people go to chillages or parties no one goes on their phones because all their friends are there except for when they want to post something or call someone.
ReplyDeleteOur generation might not be the best and it might not be like the few decades before us being welcomed into this world but we are still able to have conversations one on one and and we can if we try.
Not being able to go on our phones isn't easy but when you need a break you need to take it.
It's not just the communication that's being affected it's also all the bad radiations that are coming out of the phone while we are on it .
Everyday we are affected by this and one day it can become a social problem and also a health problem.
with the invention of cell phones people have definitely changed the way they communicate. We hardly even talk to people anymore when we are face to face because we are texting on our phones. Now with snap chat and instagram we don't even need to talk because it is all pictures. Cell phones have made communicating easier but there are many negative things too. I think it just keeps getting worse and worse with each new app and invention instead of better.
ReplyDeleteGood point, cell phones have some good and bad
DeleteCommunication has changed since the evolution of phones but in good ways and bad ways. With a phone you can communicate with anyone else that has a phone even people on the other side of the world. The negative thing about phones now is that people are too attached to their phones and that's all they do. In my opinion we have not lost the art of talking because talking just comes natural. In the future nothing much will changes besides the phones being more advanced.
ReplyDeleteI think communication has changed in good and bad ways too!
DeleteSince cell phones have been invented, people talk less with each other but more on the phone.I don't think we lost the art of talking but were just lazy to grab a cup of coffee and sit down and talk about random stuff. In the future I think that things would still be the same.
ReplyDeletei disagree about the future staying the same , i find it will only get better and more advanced
DeleteCommunication has changed a lot since cell phones, now everybody talks by text and is always looking down at their cell phones. I think we have some what lost the art of talking because people do still talk, but now I get so angry because during lunch I look around and instead of seeing people talk and laugh I only see people looking down at their phone and it’s sad. I think in the future almost every one even children will be looking at their phones not noticing the world around them.
ReplyDeleteThere are some people who communicate and play their electronics devices (cough... cough...me). Electronics devices can even helps us communicate and make new friends we can talk and have fun.
DeleteA lot has change when we invented cell phones. Majority of our people now text and always looking down on their cell phones. We probably lost some of the art of talking because people will always talk, no matter how much technology are invented, we will still know how simply talk. Talking will always be with us. In the future, we might talk even less with our new electronics devices. The movie Wall-E might even be about right how we are headed in the future, being fat and lazy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you . good blog.
Deletecommunication has altered very much from the cell phone, majority of people on this earth communicate by texting or phoning someone instead of them speaking face to face, they just look at their phones. We have lost some art of simply talking because even though majority of people text instead of talking to speaking to someone in person there are some people out there who ignore phones or don't even have cellular devices.I think in the future our world will revolve around phones no one will talk maybe even when people are born they will be given a phone.
ReplyDeleteIts true we did lose our ability to just have a regular conversation with someone face to face
DeleteSince cellphones started becoming popular, we have lost the art of simply having a conversation with someone in person. I think that since our cellphones are something we need with us at all times, the future generations might be more dependent that we are now on our phones. Talking is a very simple task but most people now in days just turn on their phone and just text their friend or go on snapchat and other social medias.
ReplyDeleteCommunication has changed a lot since the evolution of the phones. When the phones didn't exist, the people used to talk to each other face to face because they didn't have another way but since now we have another ways easier and quicker everyone uses them. Although I admit that nowadays everyone uses their phones for everything, I don't think we have lost the art of talking. We still talk at school or simply when we are in the same room. We only use our phones to communicate with others that are a long distance away and I think that's an advantage. In the future, I think it will stay the same, the technology will advance but we will still talk with people.
ReplyDeletewell as soon cell phones came out and where affordable everybody started to talk to people on the phone which changed a lot of communications with tactful one too one talk , but know not many people talk on the phone its usually just texting or using social media. So yes it has changed a lot. Personally i think i talk a lot with my friends everyday , i even talk more then i'm on my phone , but i think a lot of other people have lost the art of speaking. I think in the future technology will advance a lot so the way of communicating will have so many different ways people will not talk to one another with each other in person.
ReplyDeleteI agree nice blog
DeleteI have to agree with you, technology can go so far, there is almost an endless amount of possibilities that will happen.
DeletePersonally I think that over the years our communication/socializing has gotten a bit worse. I think it's because of technology and we are more anti-social. In class to be honest it was really fun but at moments you would look around and people wouldn't really be communicating. It's sad but I still think we comunicate well but just not enough.
ReplyDeleteI believe for a lot of kids texting has destroyed their grammar and their way of showing emotion while talking. Yet, I don't think we have lost the art of speech, everyday we come in and chat with our friends, our teachers and our peers. I think the road into the future is wobbly, I honestly don't know what's going to happened.
ReplyDeleteWe might get implanted earpieces so we can talk to anyone at anytime, actually there is this show that is kind of scary to realize "This might happen". Mr.Katz if you have a bit of time to spare and you have Netflix, look up Black Mirror and watch the 1st episode in the 3rd season. Don't worry you don't have to watch the rest of the episode, they have no relation to each other.
DeleteThe whole "Are Phones Destroying society" Debate is extremely subjective. If someone who uses there phone for mostly music, his or her phone is basically a glorified mp3 player. If you use your phone as a photographic device( Take Photos or Videos), your phone is basically smaller camera. If you do every other thing in life on your phone THEN it turns into a problem. Since at that point you have a depencance on your phone and that's what's going on in our society. But some people use phones for decent reasons, personally I use my phone as a kind of a multi-tool, music, phone, roasting Marcus on steam chat(I know you are watching) and just general goofing around.
ReplyDeleteOk it is true that we that we are less lively but it is not the end of something that is casually changing, if we don’t change our ways of importerty, for sure there will no way of being revelry,
ReplyDeleteIf we don’t make change when we walk out the door it will be a world of perplexity, The simple solution is to by friends without any illusions to make the world less filled with confusion.
