To be honest I don't know how I feel about this but I know that a lot of people will be happy this and I know a lot of people won't be. One benefit is that it is legal now and you can do whatever you want but a setback is that marijuana can mess up your life because it isn't the best thing for you.

DeleteI have mixed feelings with this topic . Some benefits with Marijuana is that it's used for medical purposes and now people don't have to stress with getting arrested . But also with Marijuana , many use it for bad purposes and adults will be unhappy with the use of it . I bet many teens and young adults are glad about making Marijuana legal in Canada but for the wrong reasons . And honestly I don't really care at the moment if Marijuana is legal in Canada , I don't know much about the topic and I don't have a true opinion on it . But If Canada wants to make Marijuana legal im ok with that .

DeleteI think that there is more negative then positive because the first thing that comes to mind is people smoking weed "marijuana". It is so bad for our health and it kills white blood cells in the brain. There could be some positive used in medicine "small dosages" to cure or to help people that need it. Overall marijuana is pretty bad because people want to be "cool" and don't know how to control themselves.

DeleteYes marijuana can affect the brain if you have smoked a lot of it, but it is IMPOSSIBLE for someone to smoke so much of it that it kills them. ALSO there is the benefit of the marijuana being made with a lot less chemicals and the government will actually be making money off of it.

DeleteI'm not ever planning on smoking marijuana but I do believe it is better to legalize it then not. Not only is the government actually making money from it now but the marijuana will have a TON less chemicals inside it, how much/to who/and when will be regulated and buyers of marijuana and sellers will be a lot safer (and they will be legally paying for a permit).
ReplyDeletePersonally I don't know how I feel about this. I feel that a benefit will be to help people who are sick and also people don't have to sneak around anymore dealing and everything. Also it will be pure. But I also feel that there will be set backs involved with it. Such as I feel you will see a lot more people doing it in the streets and everything. And I think people will use it a lot more often because they can get it easier and quicker. It is not the best thing for you. This topic can go both ways, you'll have benefits and you'll have setbacks. People will like the idea and people won't. It'll be a very equal discussion.

DeleteFirst of all, happy 420 to everyone! I honestly think its a great idea to legalize marijuana. I think its a great influence on others cause children wont get in as much trouble since its legal instead of illegal. although there will be much more dealing and smoking of weed since it is legal but I honestly believe that its their life and they can do what they want and nobody else should have a say in it. but I feel that legalizing it is a great idea in many ways that people wont get in as much trouble and its better than cigs

ReplyDeleteI think legalizing marijuana is OK, demanding how to people are going to use it. I think the Prime Minister want to use the drug in the medical uses. It has many good use in medicines and health. It might cure cancer and lung disease! But there are side effects. The persons smoking marijuana will be more violent and aggressive. Not only that, it can damage the brain. People will also use this in some bad ways too such as selling the drugs to Untied State citizen and/or growing it in there home for other purposes. Legalizing marijuana has it's own advantages and disadvantages, so the conversation can go into any paths. I think it's OK but for medical uses, only.
ReplyDeleteI think it should be legalize because people who will need it for pain at the hospital they will use it. Teens who get in trouble for smoking marijuana won't get in trouble anymore because it will be legal. Now teens can do what they want and can't get judge by other people about marijuana.

DeleteI don't really care if it is legal or not. If alcohol and cigarettes are legal then why not marijuana. It has been shown to help deal with the pain with people who have cancer, the gov't will make money off it, and it will reduce crime. The negatives are that it smells pretty gross and affects the brain. As long as people do not abuse it then I guess it is fine. It is not something i want to smoke but I don't care if other people do, it is their business.

DeleteI don't think this is a bad idea like drug dealers are going to go out of whatever you want to call there dealing and so less sneaking around and police arrests. But I find at first it will be ok but I think after a well like you can get weed anywhere so I don't think people will think it's cooll anymore and only the people who want it will take it. But I do think it's a good idea for medication because a lot of people have been made better by cannabis, that is the positive side. But a negative is that there may be more overdoses and in young teens. You brain doesn't completely develop until ur 25 and it's not good if teens are smoking pot all the time. This is my opinion
ReplyDeleteOne of the benefits of legalising marijuana is that since it will no longer be a crime to sell or buy the police with have more time to spend on other more important crimes. A lot of people think that marijuana is more like alcohol than any of the more dangerous drugs. Another benefit is that scientist have demonstrated that it is a pain reliever for people in pain and that is why medical marijuana has been available for a long time. Now those people will be able to get their “medicine” easier. Some setbacks are that now that it’s available more people might use it and it could lead to people driving under the influence of marijuana which is just as bad as drinking and driving. Also the police might not have a test yet to see if someone is using marijuana and driving. So I don’t think it should be an illegal drug.

DeleteI think a lot of people will be happy to hear this but a lot will also not be happy to hear this. Some benefits could be that marijuana is now more accessible to people in medical situations, where they can use it without threat of being arrested. A setback could be that it will be abused and will be more accessible to younger people which can very well be a negative thing.
ReplyDeletePersonally I think that there will be very many people that will be happy about this but I also think that there will be very many people who feel just as strongly upset about it. Although I think that it could be a good thing because people who have medical conditions that can only be helped with this type of drug will now be helped without the worry of breaking a law and being caught. Sadly there can be some negative consequences on kids, teens or even adults because they can now abuse this law and finally not have a worry about being caught.
ReplyDeleteI personally don't care about Marijuana being legal in Canada , it won't affect me in anyway. I do think though it has some good and bad things about legalizing it , the bad thing is people will sell it illegally and buy it illegally and people won't use it for the right reason like for fun when it's supposed to be Medicinal. The good thing about it is it does help people let loose when thy are in a lot of pain and it will be good for hospitals to use. I don't think it's a bad idea but I think after they see how people are gonna abuse the legalization of it it's not gonna be good.
ReplyDeleteI actually think that this could be a good thing, because the weed would be 100% pure because the gouvernment would be supplying it... so there wouldn't be as horrible junk in the weed u know. One of the setbacks though could be that since it is legal kids would be wanting to do more , something illegal like hard drugs and that wouldn't be so good. Some benefits to legalizing marijuana are that it can be used as medical purposes and can help a lot of people with pain. It can also be more comfortable to go buy it or to sell it. Some setbacks are that since you can buy it whenever you want more people will take the drug and more accidents will happen.
ReplyDeleteOne of the benefits of the legalization of marijuana is that I can create lots of jobs, It can be used as medicine to cure disease that have no cure yet. I can make a lot of money from about 22.6 billion dollar per year and it would give the government more tax money. A lot of people don’t know when enough weed is enough and can in some causes affect your mental health. To much of anything no matter what it is is bad for you. I think it would be a good idea if the amount consumed be controlled.

DeleteOne of the benefits of legalisation marijuana, is that it can serve as medicine sometimes. But I don't think it would be a good idea to legalise marijuana, because people wouldn't use in the way where there will be beneficial results. The drug will be everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that there a lot of benefits and consequences to legalizing marijuana for example it can be used as a type of medicine to help calm patients that have different diagnosis or also can help with anxiety etc. Honestly there are also a lot of consequences to legalizing marijuana like people would probably be smoking it more often and of course cigarettes are legalized but any type of smoking just like drinking is bad. But if marijuana was legal the police would focus on better issues and more Important crime.
ReplyDeleteI think that legalizing weed is a good idea, I've always wondered why alcohol and cigarettes can kill you and are perfectly legal but weed is illegal but hasn't killed anyone before because you can't die from smoking to much. I understand that it's a drug so the government would want to have it be illegal, but now knowing that weed can actually help people who have certain sicknesses making it legal is a very good idea.

DeleteThere will be some good and bad if and when weed is legalized. First of all weed should be for people with sickness that have pain. Going to weed for a mental illness is a bad idea because it will cost a lot after a while. You should be able to smoke it at 25 because before then it's to early unless your doctors tell you it's okay. Everyone says weed doesn't kill but it does make you to do dumb stuff without you knowing. Weed can also mess up your lungs just like smoking. I don't care if weed is legalized but to smell of weed bother me.

DeleteMarijuana is not always the best thing for you. It is bad for you and your brain most of the time but it does have its benefits. For example; my uncle has a lot of pain on his shoulder and for the past couple of years the doctors said they couldn't do anything and the medicine that they prescribed never helped him until one day the doctor prescribed him Marijuana. He's been taking it lately and he always feels great and very relaxed and painless. There are some good things to legalizing weed but if you're healthy and young and you don't know what you're doing I find that it's garbage for your brain and body the same way cigarettes are bad and alcohol. It is not a good idea for it to be legal but even when it wasn't legal people were still doing it.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with this but some people om won't like it because teenagers will abuse this law. Marajuana can be used in a very good way though to help fight some medical conditions. In my opinion this drug should be legal.
